2025年4月22日新闻秘书卡罗琳·莱维特向媒体简报

Hello everyone! What a beautiful group of children—good afternoon!

Today I’m going to share with you a wonderful picture book. After we read it, I’d love for you to tell me what you learned. The name of the book is "Bunny with a Big Heart". Have any of you heard of it? Oh, you have? That’s wonderful!

Let’s get started—

This is a story about a little bunny named PJ.

PJ was a very funny little bunny who was always up to something.
One morning, he shouted, “I’m going to the park!”
Then he raced out the door, leaving it wide open, with dirty dishes still on the table, a messy bedroom floor, and chaos under the bed.

He was always late. When he got to the park, he said, “Sorry I’m late.”
“Where’s my baseball glove?” PJ asked.
“I’ll bring it tomorrow,” he said. But he said the same thing yesterday.

That evening, Sweetie Bunny invited him to the movies, but PJ said, “Those are baby movies.”
PJ only thought about himself and had no time for family or friends.

One day, PJ twisted his ankle while playing baseball and cried out, “Ouch! Ouch!”
He was carried home. His mom said lovingly, “My poor little bunny.”
His dad said, “Elevate your ankle and get some rest.”

But PJ didn’t want to rest. He still wanted to go to Pinecone Island with his friends.
Later, his friends came to visit and brought video games.
“You’re not going to Pinecone Island?” PJ asked.
They said, “It’s no fun without you.” So they stayed to keep him company.

That night, Mom brought his favorite mac and cheese to his bedside,
and for dessert, carrot cake. She tucked him in with a cozy blanket, and Sweetie Bunny fluffed his pillow.

PJ said gratefully, “Thank you all.”

The next day, he thought about everything. Everyone had been so kind to him.

He felt like a lucky little bunny,
so he decided to become a thoughtful and kind little bunny too.

He got up early and made his bed,
cleaned up the popcorn on the floor,
and after breakfast, helped put the dishes in the sink.

He wasn’t late anymore, and he returned his baseball glove, science kit, and toys to his friends.
His friend said in surprise, “I’ve been looking for my pogo stick!”

PJ discovered that helping and caring for others made him really happy.

That night, PJ and Sweetie Bunny watched one “Jumping Bunny” movie after another until there were no more left—then they fell asleep together peacefully.

The story is over.

Kids, what did you learn from this story?

— “Make friends, and also take care of them.”
— “Learn to be kind.”
— “Care for others.”

Yes, I completely agree with what you said.

I hope you have a wonderful afternoon, Happy Easter Monday!
Enjoy time with your family, and I hope to see you again next year!

Thank you, everyone!
